Problem-free, additional access to a building for wheel chair users is possible by means of vertical or inclined Lifts for the disabled, both internally and externally.

Basically, there are three categories of Lifts for the disabled:

Internal and external vertical Lifts for the disabled are offered as complete systems in a highly stable, self-supporting hoistway structure. The framework is constructed from aluminium profiles and is encased with sandwich elements of steel or safety glass. A larger usable surface is made available in the home, by means of the low dimensions of vertical platform lifts. Costly structural changes are no more necessary for a vertical lift for a disabled person than is the installation of a high voltage supply: 230 volts are sufficient for all purposes.

If the wheel chair user needs to surmount only a modest height, a wheel chair platform lift will be installed in many cases. In general, this is designed for coping with a vertical difference in height of 1.5 meters.

Inclined platform lifts, which are accessible for a wheel chair, may be adjusted to individual requirements, as with stair lifts with a seat. In comparison with the latter, they require only wider steps.
