Comfortable ride thanks to patented traction drive
For decades, conventional inclined wheelchair lifts have normally been driven via chains or toothed racks. In contrast, we have opted for our patented traction drive, to ensure that technical advances do not stop short of your lift.
The principle is simple:
The rules of traction have been known for a long time in the field of engineering; without traction no trains or cars could run, for example. Our lifts obey the same laws.
The four drive and guide rollers that are fixed at the back close in pairs around the two tubular guide rails with a strong grip and move up and down them in this way. The platform is connected to the guide rail in a horizontal position at all times.
The advantages:
- Extremely quiet and smooth running: continuously variable starting and braking ensures a gently gliding ride. There is less vibration compared to conventional drives. This smooth operation is particularly advantageous for people with spinal injuries or other medical problems.
- Very good curve stability due to the double rails made of stainless steel, whatever gradient the lift is currently negotiating.
- Your lift is very quiet: there are no loud and oily chains or racks as with conventional drives.
- The drive is practically maintenance free. It performs its job reliably, as has been demonstrated by the thousands of lifts already sold.
- No oiling, greasing or use of lubricants with which you, your clothing or your wheelchair could come into contact. The smooth, round stainless steel tubes remain clean and shiny even in operation.
- The staircase is always kept clean: there can be no mess on the stairs due to metal filings resulting from wear.
- It goes without saying that the entire drive system has been type examined by the German inspection authority (TÜV).
