Innovations act as the engine that drives the company’s development
Technology serves people best when it is optimised time and time again to suit their needs.
Engineering knowledge coupled with practice-orientation and the use of state-of-the-art technologies leads to regular improvements being made by HIRO LIFT to their existing lift systems and results in the development of completely new products. The development of innovative drive concepts in particular has been a focal point for our engineers for many years.
One of the most important of our own developments is the patented traction drive, which we use in our vertical lifts, inclined lifts and stair lifts.
Conventional stair lifts or inclined wheelchair lifts are usually driven via toothed racks and chains. “From an engineering point of view this is an unsatisfactory solution for spatial rail routes”, says director Dr Wilfried Hein, explaining the reason for the search for improvements. In contrast, the traction drive coupled with the double rail system guarantees unsurpassed curve stability and drive comfort for practically every staircase.
We also use the traction drive for Passenger elevators. Installed on the car or in the counter weight, a drive such as this can dispense with the need for a machine room. This makes new architectural solutions possible. Lifts can be installed inexpensively in buildings, in which this was not possible before. By installing the drive in the counterweight of the lift, HIRO LIFT provides another innovation. “With this type of construction we make savings especially in weight and materials. The lift is significantly lighter and therefore consumes less energy”, says Dr Wilfried Hein referring to the patented system.
