Comfortable ride thanks to patented traction drive
For decades, conventional stair lifts have normally been driven via chains or toothed racks. In contrast, we have opted for our patented traction drive, to ensure that technical advances do not stop short of your stair lift.
The principle is simple:
The rules of traction have been known for a long time in the field of engineering; without traction no trains or cars could run, for example. Our stair lifts obey the same laws. The four drive and guide rollers that are fixed to the seat close in pairs around the two tubular guide rails with a strong grip and move up and down them in this way. The seat is connected to the guide rail in a horizontal position at all times.

Convincing arguments for increased comfort
The ultimate in stability due to the double tube system
- We deliberately opted for a double tube system for the guide rail.
This provides excellent curve stability, whatever gradient the lift has to negotiate, due to the double stainless steel tubes. It prevents any movement of the chair and and also stops any undesired tilting. - The guide rail is narrower than in a single tube system.
Smooth operation and reduced vibration compared to conventional drives
- The speed is regulated smoothly and continuously during the entire ride. Soft starting and stopping are key features as are the gentle slowing down before the curve and gentle acceleration afterwards.
- This smooth operation is particularly advantageous for people with spinal injuries or other medical problems.
- You experience the ultimate smooth ride.
No risk of injury
- The guide rail consists of two ground stainless steel tubes which are neither slotted, toothed nor perforated. This prevents injuries, e.g. from the toothed rack.
Your stairwell stays clean at all times - No oiling, greasing or use of lubricants, which could come into contact with you or your clothing, is necessary in the entire path of travel of the lift. The stainless steel rails remain clean even if the lift is used regularly.
- Unlike other curved lifts with a conventional toothed rack drive, you will not find any wear-related metal filings or flaking paint littering the stairs.
Your stair lift is very quiet
- There are no loud and oily chains or racks as with conventional drives.
